Rossa dengan didukung penuh oleh sang bunda, rela pulang pergi dari Sumedang ke Bandung demi mempelajari teknik bernyanyi yang baik dari guru vocal.
Kini setelah berbilang tahun, Rossa tidak saja menjelma sebagai salah satu diva Indonesia, tapi juga beberapa kali dipercaya menjadi juri pada ajang pencarian bakat bernyanyi di sebuah stasiun televisi swasta.
Yang terbaru , ibunda Rizki Langit Ramadhan ini menjadi juri di Indonesia Idol Junior 2018. Rossa begitu antusias menjalani kesibukannya sebagai juri.
“Kita ingin melahirkan bintang-bintang yang komplit. Dalam artian prestasi dan personality nya juga oke. Ingin melahirkan bintang yang hamble dan memiliki attitude yang bagus,” ungkap Rossa, pada suatu ketika.
Rossa mengatakan dulu dirinya juga mengawali karier dari usia dini. Dia pun kerap mengikuti sejumlah ajang kompetisi bernyanyi guna memupuk keberanian bernyanyi di atas panggung.
“Setelah itu di tahun 78 saya baru mulai aktif bernyanyi ke berbagai daerah. Dulu saya nyanyi bareng penyanyi-penyanyi senior. Salah satunya tante Teti Kadi. Waktu itu kami nyanyi sampai ke daerah Rumbai, Riau,” kenang Rossa saat ditemui usai mengisi acara Konser 3 Dekade, Ulang Tahun ke-30 Purwa Caraka Studio, baru-baru ini di Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta.
Penampilan Rossa sebagai bintang tamu dalam acara tersebut tentu juga merupakan sedikit kilas balik perjalanan Purwa Caraka Musik Studio. Rossa diundang sebagai salah satu sosok yang pernah ikut belajar di Purwa Caraka Studio Bandung.
“Senang banget menjadi salah satu saksi memperingati 30 tahun sekolah music Kang Purwa. Karena aku dulu juga pernah disini,” ujar Rossa, dengan wajah berbinar.

Rossa pun membeberkan sebuah kenangan tak terlupakan bersama kakak kandung penyanyi Trie Utami itu.
“Jadi dulu selain belajar vocal, aku juga kepengen banget bisa main piano. Lalu dengan tabungan dari hasil bernyanyi saya minta tolong Kang Purwa untuk membelikan piano. Kalau nggak salah ingat, saya titip uang sebesar Rp. 8 juta untuk beli sebuah piano. Kang Purwa tuh orangnya baik banget, dia anterin pianonya ke rumah saya di Sumedang. Ternyata setelah diusut-usut, uang segitu tuh mepet banget. Istilahnya kalau dihitung dari harga piano dan ongkos sewa mobil uangnya Cuma bersisa sekitar 18 ribuan. Tapi Kang Purwa nggak pernah cerita-cerita soal itu, saya baru tahu ya sekarang ini. Hahahaa,” ujar Rossa, seraya tertawa lepas.
Sementara itu Purwa Caraka mengatakan kesuksesan yang diraih Rossa tidak terlepas dari dukungan penuh dari sang bunda.
“Saya salut sama Mamanya Ocha. Benar-benar mendukung karier anaknya. Kita pergi ke Rumbai, Duri, Mamanya ikut nemenin . Memang seharusnya setiap orang tua patut mendukung anaknya. Ketika anak ada passion pada bidang tertentu jika tidak disupport, pasti nggak akan jadi apa-apa juga. Tapi begitu kita kasih jalan, harusnya kesuksesan akan turut mengikuti,” sambung Purwa, yang berada disebelah Rossa.
Purwa melalui sekolah musiknya akan terus berupaya menyadarkan masyarakat Indonesia akan pentingya music didalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
“Dari sisi asset, bakat berkesenian anak Indonesia harus dipertahankan. Manfaat berkesenian sangat besar.Saya berharap para orang tua, guru di sekolah memberi ruang untuk anak berkarya dan berprestasi. Karena bangsa yang besar adalah bangsa yang berkesenian,” pungkas Purwa.
