WanitaIndonesia, MANILA– Kongres Wanita Indonesia (Kowani) melakukan penanandatanganan MoU dengan Global Peace Women (GPW), pada event Global Peace Convention 2023 di Manila, pada Selasa, 12 Desember 2023.
Global Peace Convention diselenggarakan oleh Global Peace Foundation (GPF) dan Global Peace Women (GPW). Kowani berkolaborasi dalam aksi nyata untuk membangun perdamaian dunia, khususnya di kota Pasig Manila, pada Selasa, 12 Desember.
GPW, yang terdiri dari perempuan dari berbagai belahan dunia, menghadirkan acara “16 Days of Awareness Campaign on Violence against Women and Children,” dihadiri oleh lebih dari 100 anak, yang berusia 12 hingga 15 tahun.
“Penanandatanganan MoU dan kolaborasi erat antara KOWANI dan GPW ini membuka pintu bagi KOWANI untuk berpartisipasi dalam GPC 2023, mengusung tema ‘One Family Under God: Vision for National Transformation and a Civilization of Peace’, ungkap Ketua Umum Kowani, DR. Ir. Giwo Rubianto MPd.
Selama di Manila, Ibu didampingi oleh Ketua Bidang Hubungan Luar Negeri, Tantri Dyah Kiranadewi, serta Chairperson Global Peace Foundation Indonesia, Dr. Fennieka Kristianto, MH., MKn,. Ketiganya hadir dalam beragam agenda GPC mulai dari tanggal 11 hingga 14 Desember.
Mulai dari International Forum on One Korea, GPW service project; membangun perdamaian dunia dimulai dari pencegahan kekerasan terhadap perempuan, pernikahan dini serta kehamilan dini.
Dalam kesempatan yang sama Giwo yang juga sebagai ketua umum dari Pita Putih Indonesia menyampaikan dukungan penuh atas inisiasi ini.
“Akar yang menjadi faktor dari adanya konflik, dimulai dari lini terkecil harus segera dicegah dan ditangani sedini mungkin,” ujar Giwo.
Agenda lainnya adalah Global Peace Convention Main Plenary, Women Leadership and Peacebuilding Lunch Program dan Global Peace Convention Plenary II. Dalam diskusinya Giwo menyampaikan beberapa best practices yang sudah dilakukan dalam upaya mewujudkan perdamaian dunia, salah satunya melalui pemberdayaan perempuan di segala bidang dan aspek kehidupan demi mencegah adanya konflik khususnya pada perempuan dan anak.
“Antara lain, adanya program Kowani Fair sejak 1999 sebagai jembatan komunikasi antara stakeholder, penjual, produsen, dan pembeli demi menjangkau jaringan yang lebih luas lagi ke pasar global, melakukan berbagai edukasi di daerah terpencil, mendorong UMKM milik perempuan, program malnutrition yang didukung oleh International Council of Women (ICW), Implementasi dari W20 Action Plan, dan lain sebagainya,” tuturnya.
Selain itu strategi selanjutnya yang diajukan oleh Kowani adalah kolaborasi untuk membangun kesejahteraan di daerah perbatasan di Indonesia seperti aceh, Kalimantan barat dan Sulawesi utara. Dengan fokus pada pengutan ekonomi perempuan melalui inkubasi bisnis, edukasi; interpersonal communication dan kesehatan; selfcare education dan stunting prevention.
Giwo berharap upaya ini dapat mencegah dari maraknya pernikahan dini, peningkatan stunting, yang akan bermuara pada kurangnya kualitas generasi bangsa yang dapat menjadi salah satu faktor banyaknya konflik di Indonesia mulai dari lini terkecil, keluarga sampai masyarakat luas.
“Sebagai bagian dari rencana strategis ini, Kowani akan menekankan pentingnya Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability dan Learning (MEAL) agar dapat secara efektif mendata dan menyesuaikan kegiatan untuk mendapatkan hasil yang lebih signifikan,” paparnya.
Kowani juga berkolaborasi dengan GPW dalam kunjungan ke One Cainta City College, di mana mereka berinteraksi dengan murid-murid untuk menerapkan program-program GPW terkait Women Violence dan ‘Peace Begins in the Home’.
“Bersama-sama, mewujudkan kesatuan dengan tujuan pemberdayaan perempuan, solidaritas dalam kebudayaan dan etika nilai kerja tim di masyarakat serta pembangunan bangsa, juga melaksanakan koordinasi terhadap seluruh perempuan di dunia guna membentuk satu komunitas dalam konteks kekeluargaan,” imbuh Giwo.
