Setelah 3 tahun vakum dari dunia magician, Deddy Corbuzier akhirnya ‘turun gunung’ demi memenuhi permintaan stasiun televise RCTI yang telah membesarkan namanya di kancah industrI hiburan. Ayah dari Azka nio Nicola Corbuzier ini tak kuasa menolak untuk turut meramaikan perhelatan Duel Mahadaya bertajuk ‘War of Minds’ , sebuah program yang dirancang sebagai rangkaian perayaan HUT RCTI ke-29 kali ini .
Deddy mengaku jika dirinya menerima ajakan dari pihak RCTI sekitar 2 bulan lalu. Awalnya sempat ada keraguan untuk menerima. Sebab Deddy tak ingin mendapat penilaian buruk dari masyarakat.
“Saya nggak mau dicap nggak konsisten dengan ucapan sendiri bahwa saya akan mundur dari dunia magician,” ungkap Deddy, kepada GoHappyLive.com di kawasan Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta Barat, pekan ini.
Namun sebagai orang yang telah dibesarkan oleh RCTI, dia juga tak ingin mengecewakan apalagi diibaratkan oleh yang seperti kacang yang lupa pada kulitnya.
Semula pria keturunan Tionghoa ini memenuhi permintaan tersebut dan mengatakan hanya datang untuk meramaikan saja, tidak untuk bermain sulap.
“Saya bilang ‘enggak apa-apa saya datang aja, tapi nggak perform’,” lanjut Deddy.
Namun akhirnya Deddy sedikit melunak saat mengetahui acara ini juga melibatkan 3 master magician dunia, yaitu Guy Bavli, Aaron Crow dan Stevie Starr. Sementara dari Indonesia, juga ada 3 master , Limbad, Joy Sandy dan Oge Arthemus,
“Disini saya ingin menghargai tamu dari luar. Tapi saya pastikan ini bukan comeback saya ke dunia ini lagi. Saya hanya mau menampilkan sesuatu yang terbaik untuk masyarakat. Saya tidak minta bayaran untuk penampilan ini. RCTI cukup membayar para kru dan konsultan yang ikut menggodok acara ini. Sisanya mungkin nanti bisa disumbangkan ke yayasan yang membutuhkan,” ujar Deddy, lagi.
Turut memeriahkan rangkaian perayaan HUT RCTI kali ini, kenangan 20 tahun silam saat Deddy baru memulai karier pun kembali melintas dikepalanya.
“20 tahun lalu di bulan yang sama , untuk pertama kali saya muncul di RCTI,” kata Deddy, menerawang jauh.
